An upgraded version of the 2008 off-road racing game Baja: Edge of Control will be released on PS4 and Xbox One later this year.
To be published by THQ Nordic, 'Baja: Edge of Control HD' will be given a graphical overhaul over its PS3/Xbox 360 predecessor, courtesy of claimed 4K resolution textures, improved rendering of particle effects and "super smooth" framerates.
On top of the technical upgrades, THQ Nordic will also be revising the gameplay of Baja: Edge of Control in its higher fidelity re-release. For instance, the UI and control scheme will be altered, and the start of the career mode is being made "easier" by the developers.
Content-wise, Baja: Edge of Control HD will feature "dozens" of off-road vehicles (ranging from buggies to trophy trucks), a variety of race types, 1000 miles worth of routes to compete on and a support management system that'll allow players to upgrade and repair components on their cars.
No official release date has been stated at time of writing, with THQ Nordic claiming Baja: Edge of Control HD will go on sale sometime during Q2 of 2017.
