It's been a while in the making, but Assetto Corsa developers Kunos Simulazioni has finally released the PC title's Technology Preview Demo.

Featuring the Lotus Elise SC and the Autodromo di Magione, the demo gives us our first look at what the highly anticipated Assetto Corsa title is capable of from a graphical and a physic-engine standpoint, and Alan will (once his gaming PC has been fully repaired) almost certainly be filming and uploading his own review of the demo onto our YouTube channel.

Annoyingly, though, Kunos won't allow anyone (at this moment in time, at least) to simply download and take the demo out for a spin – the Technology Preview Demo requires an activation code that can only be sourced from Kunos' previous PC sim title, netKar Pro.

Kunos has, though, revealed the minimum technical requirements to run the title, which go as follows:

  • Windows Vista / 7 / 8 Operative System
  • CPU: Intel Celeron
  • RAM: 2 Gigabytes
  • DirectX 11 graphics card (ex: Nvidia GTS 450 / AMD Radeon HD5770) NOTE: AC graphics engine supports also DirectX 10.1 compatible graphic cards (ATI 4800 HD / Nvidia 8600 GT)

So, have any of you been able to take the virtual Elise SC for a few hot laps around the laser-scanned Magione circuit? If so, feel free to let us know what you make of the demo so far in the comments section below, as well as on our Facebook page and in our official Assetto Corsa forum.
