News Assetto Corsa: First Porsche models teased in new images

A month ago we learned that Assetto Corsa's development team, Kunos Simulazioni, have secured the Porsche license much to our surprise at the time.

Now Kunos' Licensing Project Manager Marco Massarutto has shared two images with the racing community which tease two Porsche models coming to Assetto Corsa. The first image (below) shows a clay render of the Porsche 935/78 which was often referred to as the “Moby Dick” thanks to its colour and long tail shape.

The 935/78 Moby Dick was the third and final 935 developed and was built purely for Le Mans. The car was powered by a 3.2 litre engine which outputs as much as 845 bhp, that much power alone would make any car quick but now factor in that this racer only weighs 1030kg and you have a true monster on your hands.

The second image (below) is far more cryptic, some community members say that it is a headlight from a Porsche 718 Boxster and comparing the two side by side I'd have to agree. The Porsche 718 Boxster may not boast as much power as other Porsche models but its certainly no slouch with a 0-62 mph time of 5.1 seconds and a top speed of a not too shabby 170 mph.

Two Porsche content packs are coming to Assetto Corsa which are said to contain a variety of classic and modern Porsche models, we'll keep you guys updated on all the latest developments as best we can.
