Kunos Simulazione continue to tease us about the forthcoming Assetto Corsa with yet another tantalising gameplay video morsel, this time featuring a Ferrari 458 GT2 racing round Autodromo di Monza. Please Kunos: put us out of our misery and just tell us the release date already!
As with the majority of developer videos released so far, the video is sourced off-screen having been personally recorded with an iPad by one of the developers, and is therefore not representative of the final quality of Assetto Corsa. Official promotional teaser and gameplay videos are said to be incoming, however, which should finally do the game justice and give us a more accurate representation of the final quality we can expect.
It's also worth noting that the gameplay video is very much a work in progress representation of Assetto Corsa. As such, the driving instruments and driver animations are not yet finished as work continues modelling the immaculate interiors. Having said that, what is on show looks immensely promising, from the high fidelity graphics and physics to the tremendous sense of speed evoked from the subtle shaking cockpit camera.
The footage is said to have been recorded using the following hardware specifications:
- Intel Quad Core
- 4 GB Ram
- GeForce GTX 560
- Ingame graphics detail level: mid-high (1920×1080, Anisotropic filtering 8, 4xAA, 4xFXAA, car reflections: mid, shadow map: high, faces per frame: 4, 3x motion blur)
