Another video has emerged of 90’s Arcade Racer in action, a title that’s been a good couple of years in the making. Originally funded on Kickstarter, the project aimed to bring a 90’s look and feel racing game to current home formats. Early target renders and artwork looked the part and we at Team VVV are certainly excited at the prospect of a racing title that harks back to the arcades of old.
This new gameplay video features the Nascar-style Stock Car on a circuit visually reminiscent of Daytona 2, with lots of colours and variations. It’s all still work-in-progress though, and although it’s almost a year since we last reported on it we’re glad to see progress continuing and will follow closely for future updates.
Besides the release on PC and Mac, 90’s Arcade Racer is also planned for Nintendo’s WiiU and should see considerable interest given the lack of racing titles on the format. The arcade style will fit in neatly with Nintendo’s own portfolio, so let’s hope the game gets some decent support when its released. As for the date, there’s nothing confirmed yet but we’ll keep our eyes peeled.
