Ford will make Gamescom history in a fortnight’s time, by unveiling the first vehicle to be revealed at the gaming expo.
Details on the upcoming machine are scarce at the moment, though it has been claimed the auto will “bring the fun back to on- and off-road driving”.
Ford’s prior hints that it plans to bring “#RaptorMania” to Gamescom 2018 also strongly suggest the vehicle will be a pick-up truck.
Currently, two Ford pick-ups have been given the more performance-oriented Raptor treatment: the F-150 Raptor full-size truck, and the slightly smaller Ranger Raptor.
It’s also been confirmed this performance-oriented off-roader will be present in “a forthcoming racing video game” that will allow players to “push the vehicle to its limits on virtual racetracks”.
As well as the performance vehicle, Ford will be bringing eight racing game pods to its stand at Gamescom. By far and away the highlight, though, will be the custom 4D simulator setup that Ford claims “offers the nearest-to-real experience imaginable for driving a performance vehicle”.
More details on the Ford and the game it will be featured in are expected to be disclosed during Gamescom’s press day on 21st August.
