It’s not every day you see a 16-bit arcade racer announced for the consoles, so it’s my absolute pleasure to let you know that Super Pixel Racers will bring its retro flavour to the PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 31.
Much like Mantis Burn Racing, the focus in Super Pixel Racers very much lies within its drifting mechanic which should be very satisfying and form the backbone of the gameplay along with its nitro mechanic (the more you drift, the quicker your nitro gauge fills up).
Splitscreen and online multiplayer is included in the top-down retro-inspired racer, and we can expect to race at miniature versions of Bahrain and Canada amongst its 13 race tracks to the backdrop of an upbeat 16-bit soundtrack. Earning winnings will enable you to purchase new cars and upgrades.
A do like the whole retro vibe and music they give to the trailer.
