I like this honesty from LDM – not sure if he was that honest back in the day about using these tactics/employing a number 2 driver/blocker.
You’re right, F1 is a team sport and I think these types of strategies are part and parcel of the sport today and yesterday. Ferrari probably pioneered/perfected it!
I would also be fine if it was the other way round, as long as it was fair and no one resorted to bad behaviour/tactics on the track.
TBH, I think Lewis would have been boo’ed regardless of tactics (Lewis being the Monza pantomime villain), it’s just a shame that the most passionately led fans in the world today have eyes for one team and not for the incredible driving that was on display at Monza.
One day Lewis may be driving for you…then that relationship will change!
