Imagine watching all these classic races with these new graphics, that would be amazing. I’m looking at all the initials and trying to put names to them – and struggling badly!

That would be a challenge in itself.

Yes it would be great to see all of these old races, digitally remastered and kept for viewing on the official F1 website. The new graphics would help no end in aiding where everyone is on track.

ums up F1 – way too much politics and the offtrack stuff is more exciting than the on track racing.

That’s what adds to the excitement and drama, i’s more than just the track action.

Good news is that the reception of the public has been super positive, which yet again shows how out of touch and incompetent many movie and entertainments journalists are following their trashy reviews.

I’ve never been into this title, would have much preferred an earlier Burnout game or a remastered Burnout 1-3 HD Trilogy.

Saw someone mentioning that Steam gathers the information over time with hardware IDs that were connected. When you then agree to take part in the Steam hardware survey, it’s just pulling and sending the collected data.

Yes they’ll know what hardware is connected and being used, but again data can be very subjective depending on how it it sourced and what locations it covers.

The DLC has been pretty good and was on sale recently. The entire sim is on sale right now.
That said, SMS and accuracy aren’t best friends. The vintage Le Mans track looks sensational but I can pass cars on the grass at over 370 km/h without issue. The lap records are 20+ seconds faster than the real records!
No sim is 100% accurate despite the claims however I find pCARS 2 to be the most relaxed of the current PC sims.

My experience was that different classes feel very different to drive. I can’t judge on authenticity, but instead my on perception and how intuitive they are to drive. In that sense it was a mixed bag and the turning required to make some cars feel more natural was an indication of how bad the stock models were.

Hate the term “influencers”. It comes off as so transparently corporate. As if they aren’t considered people with fans, just entities with followers to be tapped into. But I digress.

A shame that its to be done in a London studio. There’s always a disconnected feeling when something is presented away from the event itself.

The term Influencers is now a negative one, we certainly don’t consider ourselves an influencer, instead if somebody uses that term I say we are media. But unlike media some influencers have no neutral judgement or detachment. Many are probably paid off and what’s worse is their followers often know this but don’t unfollow them. So, that means pro-Formula E YouTuber’s with no helpful debate or neutrality, also most of then don’t appeal to an older audience, so that will just lead to youth audience only.

Studio’s always work better at the event, but don’t right, you can fool the audience somewhat. Like some news stations that are in front of a green screen.

Ideally you’d have had around 40 titles and perhaps some demo’s as well, Demo 1 inclusion would have been nice. Ultimately it’s a poor offering and let’s down Sony’s own heritage.

It’s a disappointing list but it doesn’t represent what made the console popular, nor the culture that drove their success. I’ve put together my own list which better represents that. It’s also worth noting that the title that sold the best, weren’t always the best titles.

I’ve added a personal selection below.

Of these, Ridge Racer was a seminal title that sold the system to the world, an incredible omission.

Redbull is a team that just keeps on giving, with Daniel Ricciardo getting pole, that wan’t the plan. The expectation was that Daniel’s engine would fail and so it did.

    Mexico GP

Daniel with unexplained poor start. = Some settings changes to give Max the advantage?
Daniel closing on Max, engines turns off. = Can’t have a No:2 driver leaving after contesting their star man.

I actually forgot about the halo lights.

So no, I’ve yet to see it in action.
Have they confirmed what it will be used for?

All I know of is the crowd boost option. We’ll have to wait and see what else they have up their sleeve.

But it does lead to a lot of tracks aesthetically looking the same (be it shot-to-shot, or track-to-track). A lot of blue, white, and grey.
At least have some flavour of the host location to help make a track look more distinctive. Even if it’s just coloured barriers.

Good points, they do look awfully similar and it fair to say a couple of track races would break things up a bit. I guess use of particular barriers and colours would be welcome in giving everywhere an individual flare.

Also, does every on screen graphic need a chime to it? I wouldn’t mind so much if some of them didn’t sound so out of place.
(That said, F1’s starting light “beep”s has me worried. Sounds so badly tacked-on.)/blockquote]

Yes it’s so tacky and don’t get me started on the whole F1 lights thing, awful, just awful.

Have you seen the new Halo lights?

    Today? ?

    Argh! Changed 😉

I think the series still needs to find its place and I can’t say I’ve ever been a fan of the fanboost option.

Behind the scenes they were never all that easy to work with, which didn’t help.

Yes, some great drivers in there, lets see the performance of these new cars, suffice to say that it will only continue to improve as the performance of the cars inevitably improves. I’m quite looking forward to seeing how it all turns out this season.

Thanks for all of the questions guys, I’ve added them to the OP for inclusion. Can you all say hello in the new members section https://www.teamvvv.com/forums/forum/f-a-q/ would be great to learn more about your racing gaming passions.

Don’t forget about Michelle Mouton, in 1985 she was overall winner at Pikes Peak which seemed to really get under Bobby Unser’s skin and he wasn’t being quiet about it, her response was to simply state “If you have the balls you can try to race me back down as well.”

On the subject of Group B and handbrakes, the early Quattros could do handbrake turns, but the co-driver had to pull a lever that would unlock the centre differential solving the problem of locking all four wheels up.

Now regarding DR2.0, Alan, I’ve seen it in the footage you’ve uploaded and it’s something that has been driving me bonkers since the EA period for DR1, I know it’s a rather fickle thing but the wipers just randomly wiping does my head in.

Thanks Bob, all of those rally guys had huge balls, those cars were lethal.

Interesting about the handbrake, I’ll be sure to investigate that further.

Added your question about wipers to the OP.

I hope that this new Dirt rally 2.0 is a step towards the hardcore simulation, an upgrade of the first Dirt rally, without falling into the ridicule of presenting two special stages long at each rally, then shorten, change the name, crossing the two directions. I hope there are no more problems of rebound than the first Dirt rally (example: the gravel brought back in galles, touch with the back or front = fly on mars).

Thanks for this feedback Alessandro, what you’ve written in this post is more of a statement rather than clear questions. If you can just list those as clear concise questions, it’ll be much easier to get answers to specific aspects.
