SimBin, the creators of the fabled GTR series, have announced a new licensing agreement with BMW for their free-to-play PC project RaceRoom Racing Experience.

RaceRoom Racing Experience therefore joins the club of PC sims that have access to BMW, as licensing agreements were previously announced for both Project CARS and Assetto Corsa.

So far, the BMW 320 Turbo Group 5 is the only confirmed car, but SimBin have confirmed that more are to follow. Screenshots of the late Georg Plasa's BMW 134 hillcimb car have also previously been released, although it's not clear if either will be available in the free version or as additional purchases. Notably, the 320 Turbo was also one of the BMWs announced for Project CARS.

Like the 134, the 320 Group 5 has some significant motorsport pedigree. Introduced in 1977 as a successor to the 3.0 CSL with a tuned Formula Two engine capable of nearly 600bhp, it was nicknamed the 'Flying Brick' due to its blocky body and was driven by BMW's Junior Team in the Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft, with notable drivers including Manfred Winkelhock, Eddie Cheever, and Marc Surer. Weighing just 870 KG, its power to weight ratio should prove to be a demanding drive in the final game.
