Retro racer Horizon Chase gets a Gamescom teaser trailer

Martin Bigg On August 1, 2015

Ahead of Gamescom next week, developer Aquiris Game Studio has provided a fresh new gameplay glimpse of their upcoming retro racer Horizon Chase, effectively an ode to the 8 and 16-bit arcade racers of yesteryear such as OutRun, Lotus Turbo Challenge and Top Gear.

It's a short but sweet teaser that still gives us an idea of what to expect from Horizon Chase: vibrant visuals, fast-paced driving and of course a rousing guitar-driven soundtrack capturing that '80s vibe.

Also of note are a few previously unseen cars and locations that will feature in Horizon Chase spotted in the trailer: along with what looks like a Ferrari F50 from OutRun, we also noticed lookalikes of the Dodge Viper, a classic Chevrolet Bel Air, a Koniegsegg and even a lovely Lamborghini Miura. Look closely and you can also spot a Honda NSX as one of the Sunday drivers the player blitzes past - please be playable.

Horizon Chase will be playable at Gamescom next week, so we will no doubt get our hands on it and deliver our impressions. It will initially be released for iOS in August, but a PC version will follow.
