Kunos Simulazioni, the team behind the upcoming PC sim Assetto Corsa, are attending the annual Vallelunga Endurance 6H Race this weekend. Conveniently, their office happens to be placed within the Vallelunga circuit which gave some of the real life drivers and avid simracers a chance to pop in and have a bash on Assetto Corsa.
As a test of Assetto Corsa's authenticity, Roal Motorsport's BMW Z4 GT3 racecar was not only one of the competitors in the Endurance race but was also available to drive in-game – after just 10 minutes of practice, racing driver Stefano Colombo was able to match the same lap times as its real life counterpart.
Stefano is also an experienced simracer as well as a fast racing driver, so his feedback and ability to easily grasp the game's handling is a true testament to Assetto Corsa's simulation credentials.
Among the guests were BMW's Roal Motorsport drivers Stefano Colombo, Michela Cerruti and Aristotelis Vasilakos along with experienced simracers Jon Denton from ravsim and Nicola Trivilino from DrivingItalia. Photos from the visit were posted on their Facebook page which we have also published below.
