Project CARS 2 demo features enhanced visuals for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X

Martin Bigg On November 24, 2017

Two months after its initial release, a surprise demo of Project CARS 2 has landed on the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, allowing players to sample the rich diversity of racing disciplines that feature in the racing simulation. The demo, which weighs in at 4.66 GB on PS4, 4.31 GB on Xbox One, lets you get race a Ferrari 488 GT3, Lamborghini Huracán LP610-4, and Formula Renault 3.5 around a laser-scanned version of the Red Bull Ring.

A playable demo being released a few months after the release of a new game is unusual and wouldn't normally be very newsworthy. What's significant about the Project CARS 2 demo, however, is that it previews some of the features that will be included in a future patch update. PS4 Pro and Xbox One X players will notice enhanced visuals, with new options that let you prioritise improving the resolution or frame rate. Players have been reported improved car engine audio and virtual reality support in the demo for the PC version as well.

These features aren't available in the full game at the time of writing, but will be rolled out in an " “imminent update.” Looks like we can expect the visuals and performance to be polished up, along with the usual bug fixes in the next update.

Be sure to let us know if you've noticed any significant improvements in the Project CARS 2 demo. If you're still on the fence about Project CARS 2, at least you can now sample the game before making a purchasing decision.
