News New eSports additions to Forza Motorsport 6 now available

An array of new and updated features for Forza Motorsport 6's online multiplayer mode have been added to the Xbox One-exclusive racing game.

Introduced via a new update, the features primarily focus on giving hosts of private online events more flexibility in terms of tailoring the race to their requirements.

For example, it's now possible to manually order the cars on the grid before a private race starts – thus allowing league racers the chance to factor in features like grid spot penalties over the course of a season.

Private race hosts will also be able to run a 'grid preview' feature prior to the start of a race, which provides a more detailed view of the starting grid akin to what's showcased in TV coverage of real-world motorsport events.

Additional functionalities place more of an emphasis on improving the experience for private race spectators and broadcasters. On top of the features already included in Forza Motorsport 6, race viewers will also be able to toggle between sets of 'Info Panels' that display items like car telemetry, fastest lap times, distances to competitors and the number of pit stops they've completed.

Though these features are available to all Forza Motorsport 6 players with an active Xbox Live Gold subscription, Turn 10 Studios has confirmed these additions will be "prominently featured" during the next Forza Racing Championship series due later this year.
