As if we haven't seen enough gratuitous cop chase carnage from Need for Speed: Rivals as of late, EA's released an all-new trailer for the game that shows off yet more high-speed action that we can expect to experience ourselves in the game.
Edited in such a way that the unanitiated might even mistake it for a blockbuster movie trailer, the appropriately named "Ultimate Cars, Speed and Rivalry" trailer showcases yet more cinematic (and we assume at least mostly captured in-game) on-tarmac battles between the street racers and the pursuit-specialist police force who you'll play as in the upcoming title.
Whilst there is narrative voiceover in the trailer, don't take it as a sign that it paves the way for there being a career mode of sorts – there's been no mention of a career mode by either EA or the Gothenburg-based studio Ghost that's developing the game, and Need for Speed: Rivals has all the hallmarks of being just about as straight forward as almost every Need for Speed game to date, bar a few misguided exceptions (*cough* Need for Speed: The Run *cough*).
Is that the kind of NFS title you'd like to play, though, or would you rather something with a bit more depth narrative-wise? Do let us know in the comments section below, and feel free to discuss away in our forums.
