Grand Theft Auto V's massive online mode continues to expand with the latest 'Cunning Stunts' update which adds a new Stunt Race mode.
Regular players of the excellent Trackmania Turbo will find the tracks familiar. The 16 tracks included in the update aren't exactly conventional: these tracks have you soaring over jumps high above the city, performing loop the loops and driving through speed boosts. Premium Races are also available allowing players to bet on races in winner-takes-all matches with big payouts.

Other new cars include the Progen Tyrus which appears to be based on the McLaren F1, the Emperor ETR1 which could either be a Toyota FT-1 or Lexus LFA and the Grotti Brioso R/A which is clearly based on the Abarth 500.
In addition, the Cunning Stunts update features new clothing options including racing gear and 50 new updates.
Rockstar has big plans for GTA V Online's Stunt Races. New races and vehicles will be added in the coming weeks before the arrival of Stunt Race Creator on August 2nd which will "give the amazingly talented GTA Online Creator community the opportunity to tap into hundreds of Stunt Props along with new features and improvements to forge the most outrageous stunt tracks of their dreams." What do you say to that, Trackmania?
From what I've played so far, GTA V Online's Stunt Races are a fun addition for racing game enthusiasts that takes advantage of GTA V's surprisingly robust handling model. But this being a GTA game, don't expect the community to play nice. Let's just say the majority of races I played resulted in more deliberate contact than a British Touring Car race.
