GRAVEL is the name of Milestone’s upcoming new IP which promises to be a fun arcade racer which harks back to days of old.

However, what about the car list? Does it match up to the ample number of events and environments on offer?

The short answer is yes. Sure GRAVEL may not boast a staggering amount of cars but what it does have in abundance is the all-important diversity. Over 50 vehicles will feature in GRAVEL and according to Irvin Zonca (via Red Bull), head of game design at Milestone, it will include “the finest selection of cars from the ‘70s to 2017”.

Zonca explains that GRAVEL will see vehicles across many different categories including Group B rally cars, American trophy trucks, cross-country vehicles, rallycross (yes rallycross tracks have been confirmed), and Group S prototypes. Zonca goes into some detail on the subject matter, and we can expect “some brand-new vehicles such as the 2017 Abarth 124 and legendary brands such as Ford, Lancia, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Renault, Chevrolet, BMW and many more.”

If that wasn’t enough Zonca also boasted that GRAVEL will also feature the iconic German auto manufacturer Porsche. “We also got Porsche! When they said “yes” after reading the game design documents, it felt like Christmas day,” explained Zonca.

With some a diverse range of vehicles throughout the decades everyone will surely find a vehicle or three that they will fall in love with. I guess we shouldn’t be too surprised with the strength of automotive offering s as Milestone’s last four-wheeled dirt racer Sebastien Loeb Rally EVO had a great selection too which spanned many decades.

Needless to say, we are intrigued by GRAVEL and can’t wait to get our hands on the title. GRAVEL currently has a release window of summer, 2017 and it will throw up dust from its dirty tyres onto the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
