The inaugural DLC pack for Forza Motorsport 5 in 2014 is now ready to download from the Xbox Games Store, adding a dectet of daringly quick road and racing cars to the Xbox One's premier racing game.

Officially christened the 'IGN Car Pack', the virtual car bundle is now available to install (along with the patch that unlocks the content in the game) for £6.99, or for free for players who purchased the £39.99 'Car Pass' season pass.

No images or screenshots of the IGN Car Pack have currently been made available (we'll be updated this post as soon as they're released by Microsoft). In the meantime, though, here's a quick round-up of the vehicles in the first Forza DLC bundle of the New Year:

  • 1957 Ferrari 250 GT California – One of two Ferraris in the IGN Car Pack, and one of the most iconic and desirable Fezzas of all time (not just because of its starring role in the cult classic 1986 film Ferris Bueller's Day Off…)
  • 1961 Maserati Tipo 61 – A legendary competition prototype from the Golden Era of Motor Racing. Nicknamed the 'Birdcage' due to its then-innovative spaceframe chassis construction
  • 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS 409 – More freeway frigate than trackday torpedo boat, but – with a gargantuan 6.7 V8 under the 'hood' and plenty oof in-game upgrades to spend your hard-earned Credits on – that's easily fixed if boulevarding around Bathurst isn't your cup of tea…
  • 1969 Nissan Fairlady Z 432 – Not just the iconic first-gen Fairlady Z with the engine from the original Skyline GT-R, but also perhaps Japan's first ever hot rod
  • 1977 Ford Escort RS1800 – The road-legal version of the special stage smasher that won one Constructors' and two Drivers' titles for Ford in the World Rally Championship
  • 1984 Peugeot 205 T16 – Another homologation special, this time of Jean Todt's fabled Group B rally car. Not quite as powerful as Juha Jankhunen's and Timo Salonen's championship-winning turbocharged monsters, but that's nothing a quick trip to the tuning shop can't cure…
  • 2002 Ferrari 575M Maranello – The grandaddy to the ballistically quick F12berlinetta, and the first Ferrari GT car to come fitted with an F1-style paddleshift transmission
  • 2008 Lamborghini Reventon – Based on the Murcielago LP640. Inspired by the F-22 Raptor fighter jet. Just as awesome as it sounds
  • 2013 Caterham R500 Superlight – The former halo model in the Caterham Seven line-up, and famously faster around the Top Gear Test Track than the mighty Bugatti Veyron
  • 2013 Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG – the most powerful four-cylinder production engine in the world, slotted into smallest car that Mercedes-Benz currently makes. Welcome, everyone, to the fastest hot hatchback on sale today
