EGX Rezzed 2016 show report

Kevin Dooley On April 11, 2016

We recently had the pleasure to attend the EGX Rezzed show which took place recently in London.

For this video we take a general look around the show and showcase a number of games which will be featured in future videos over the coming weeks. Of course as the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive headsets have been recently made available, one of the main focuses in the show was in VR games which we also had a play around with.

Table Top Racing was on display too for the public to get to grips with, the game looked very close to the final version which should launch at some point next month all going well. Another upcoming game that was available to play was Carmageddon: Max Damage, we did notice some frame hiccups here and there but overall it was looking pretty solid.

Elsewhere we also had a look at the randomly generated racer Void21 along with the rollcage-inspired GRIP along with some non-racing titles that piqued our interest, check out our EGX Rezzed 2016 show report below.

EGX Rezzed 2016 Show Report

Alan Boiston On April 22, 2016

Every year the EGX show expands, from a relatively cosy event in years gone past to the giant expanse of the autumn show we see in Birmingham today. Always supportive of the Indie development scene, the smaller scale Rezzed show attracts its hard-core following looking for those unique or ‘off the wall’ experiences. Now supporting the Video Game Bafta’s, the show has expanded further and with a successful event at London’s Tobacco dock in 2015, the show returns bigger than ever for 2016.

This year one of the key focuses has been on VR, I’ve already rambled on about how much I’m looking forward to it and with my HTC Vive now enjoying daily use it was good to see the reactions of those testing it for the first time. So enthusiastic in fact that the queues eventually had to be dispersed due to over popularity. The HTC room demo’s certainly take time and space but ultimately everyone walked out with the same excited expression, it was a very special piece of kit.

Sony were there in force showing off their Playstation VR system and its coming along nicely. More launch software was on display, with Rigs, Rez and Battlezone being among the most popular. Check out our videos to see the demo’s on offer. More news on Playstation VR when we have it in our new PS VR section.

Elsewhere I toured the ever expanding indie gaming area and it is great to see how the quality and breadth of titles has expanded. While Table Top Racing World Tour was also shown in near complete form, more on that soon and you can see our 2016 show report below.
