Digital Foundry compares GT Sport PS4 vs PS4 Pro at 1080p

Digital Foundry has uploaded a video which compares Gran Turismo Sport running at 1080p on the standard PlayStation 4 versus its more powerful Pro counterpart, also running at 1080p.

The six minute video, seen below, points out the fact that at 1080p, the PlayStation Pro doesn't grant any visual gains. Indeed, Digital Foundry point out that draw distances, shadows and scenery remain exactly the same.

PlayStation 4 Pro owners who own a 1080p TV shouldn't lose all hope though, as there are some improvements in frame rate offered by the more powerful Sony hardware. Gran Turismo Sport aims for a solid 60 frames per second (fps) on both consoles, but in reality, the standard PlayStation 4 does see some frame dips as low as the high 40's and low 50's range.

While the Pro does see minute dips here and there, the overall frame rate is much more stable and only occasionally does it move from a solid 60 fps.

Replays are another area where PlayStation 4 Pro owners benefit. While the standard PlayStation 4 runs replays at 30 fps, the Pro has the grunt to target 60. This benchmark is achieved when one car is on screen, however with a full grid of cars the hardware is unable to maintain 60 fps and will drop to the low to mid 50s every so often.
