DiRT 4 coming to PS4, Xbox One & PC this June

Kevin Dooley On January 26, 2017

Codemasters has surprised us all today and has announced that DiRT 4 will release on June 9 and will be available for the PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One.

DiRT 4 is said to “combine the levels of thrill and realism” from DiRT rally with the accessibility and excitement of previous DiRT titles. So its safe to expect a more arcade-oriented title in line with the first three DiRT titles rather than a simulation-focused title much like DiRT Rally.

DiRT 4 includes 50 off-road vehicles including the Ford Fiesta R5, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI, Subaru WRX WTI NR4 and the Audi Sport Quattro S! E2. You'll take on the five rally locations of Australia, Spain, Sweden, Michigan and Wales as well as the rallycross tracks of Motalegre, Loheac Bretagne, Hell, Holjes and Lydden Hill.

DiRT 4 will also a rally route creation tool known as “Your Stage”. Simply choose your location and route parameters and the game will produce a unique stage for you to race on. Stages can be shared with others as you challenge for the best times.

The “Landrush” mode returns for DiRT 4. Landrush is all about short-course dirt racing in locations such as California, Nevada and Mexico where you get behind the wheel of pro buggies, pro-2 trucks, pro-4 trucks and crosskart vehicles.

Of course it wouldn't be a DiRT game without a career mode, and DiRT 4's allows you to create a driver and compete across the different disciplines while building your team and gaining sponsors along the way.

Elsewhere, DiRT 4 includes a tuning feature to tweak your vehicle's setups and a realistic damage model. The game also features a “Joyride” mode complete with laptime challenges and a free-play area. Daily, weekly and monthly challenges and live ladders, leagues and tournaments are also in thanks to the expanded Racenet feature.

We'll have more on DiRT 4 in the coming weeks.
