Kunos Simulazioni continue to tease us about Assetto Corsa's upcoming technology demo, which will act as our very first playable taste of what we can expect from the final game.

Recent Tweets and a host of photos from the development team imply that we shouldn't have to wait much longer, however – in fact, it could only be a matter of days away.

This Tweet from developer Stefano Casillo seems to suggest that the demo is practically ready to go, for example:

However, in response to an eager fan, Stefano confirmed that there are still a few final preparations to be made before Assetto Corsa's technology demo can be let off the line:

Content-wise, the technology demo is said to contain one car, a Lotus Elise SC on the Italian Magione circuit with no time limit in place. Various difficulty settings will be available along with two modes: free practice and time trial.

And in case you were wondering if your PC will be able to handle Assetto Corsa's prowess, we've included the system requirements below:

Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8

Dual core CPU
2 GB Memory

After such a long wait, it's easy to feel a little disgruntled about the skimpy content on offer, but think of the technology as more of a beta than an official playable demo – Kunos Simulazioni will be carefully monitoring fan feedback in order to iron out any potential bugs and refine the gameplay before unleashing the official playable demo and the final game.

There's only one slight snag, however: you can only have access to the technology demo if you own Kunos' last PC project, netKar PRO.

Anyone who previously purchased netKar PRO will be invited to try out the technology demo, but late adopters will also be sent an activation code – as long as you buy it before March 1st.

netKar Pro is widely considered to be one of the most advanced PC racing simulators currently available, so it's a small price to pay to be granted access to a preview of Assetto Corsa. A very small price indeed, in fact, considering that netKar Pro is currently on sale for just 4.99 EURO
