Kunos Simulazioni have confirmed that the Dream Pack 2 DLC for Assetto Corsa will be available to download on October 8 and will cost €7.99.

The Dream Pack 2 DLC includes the Circuit of Catalunya which was built by using laser-scanning technology, and comes in GP and MotoGP configurations. The upcoming DLC pack also features 7+2 new cars as follows;

  • AUDI R8 ULTRA 2014
  • BMW M4 Coupe
  • BMW M4 Coupe Akrapovic Edition
  • Ford GT40 MK1
  • Lamborghini Countach 5000 Quattro Valvole
  • Lamborghini Huracan GT3
  • RUF RT12R AWDRUF RT12R FWD
  • Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus SCG003

Kunos Simulazioni are also currently completing the final phase of beta testing for the next update (v1.3) for Assetto Corsa which is also scheduled to launch on October 6 alongside the Dream Pack 2 DLC content.

The v1.3 update introduces a reworked physics engine which is now “completely multi-threaded”. According to the developer, this will provide greater driving accuracy, smoother force feedback with racing wheels and total elimination of signal noise and vibrations.

Graphics too get some improvements with updated textures and shaders. Windscreens will now receive shadows and the development team have introduced a new camera facing feature with the goal of improving the rendering of 2D and 3D objects. The update also provides support for the first of the racer's dynamic objects which will be improved over time to aid in a more immersive experience.

Elsewhere, the audio has been tweaked here and there using new techniques of recording and sampling engine noises, interiors and exhausts. The new techniques should allow for a more detailed sound and the ability to notice the subtle and not so subtle differences between each car.

Lastly, Kunos have optimised their dedicated server to improve stability, and have including new features which should lead to a “more comprehensive online experience” which should keep players happy.
