Arcade combat racer GRIP coming to PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in late 2018

James Allen On June 7, 2018

The Rollcage-inspired combat racer GRIP will be given a full release on PC and consoles before the end of the year.

Currently scheduled for an unspecified date between September and December 2018, the widespread launch of GRIP also marks the end of the arcade racing game's time as a Steam Early Access title.

A total of 15 invertible combat cars will be included in the full release of GRIP, with driving characteristics differing between them (for instance, some may shirk armour for agility, and vice versa). Players will also be able to tailor the look of their cars too, by choosing from an array of liveries, decals and wheel designs.

19 unique tracks will be contained in GRIP too, with some layouts featuring destructible elements that players can use tactically to their advantage. Races on these tracks will also feature an array of power-ups for players to utilise, with these abilities ranging from explosive darts and missiles, to speed boosts and temporary protection from shields.

GRIP will be given a full release later this year on the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch platforms. Developer Caged Element has also confirmed GRIP will receive further enhancements when running on the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X consoles.
