Twisted Metal, the 2012 vehicular combat Playstation 3 title developed by Eat Sleep Play is among September's free games for Playstation Plus (PS Plus) subscribers.

Back in July PS Plus subscribers enjoyed the release of the fantastic Rocket League, let's hope this is start of more automotive titles racing their way to PS Plus owner's hard drives. Twisted Metal was released on March 16, 2012 in Europe some five months later than originally planned. The game received a decent reception from critics and currently sits on Metacritic with an impressive Metascore of 76.

Twisted Metal's story mode gives you the opportunity to play as Dollface, Mr Grimm or Sweet Tooth and you'll get to drive any of the game's vehicles so you're not tied down each contestant's own special vehicle for the first time in the series. Interestingly, the story mode can be played by two players in split-screen mode for some extra fun.

Where Twisted Metal gets really interesting is in the online multiplayer modes which includes 16-player deathmatch, team deathmatch and last man standing modes among others. No doubt a massive amount of PS Plus subscribers will be flooding these modes which should make for some crazy fun action.

Twisted Metal (PS3) will be joined by Grow Home (PS4), Super Time Force Ultra (PS4/Vita), Teslagrad (PS4/PS3), La-Mulana EX (Vita) and Xeodrifter (PS4/Vita). All of these games will be available to download on August 1. Take a look below for some Twisted Metal action.
