Game: TrackMania Turbo

Platform: PC, PS4, XBox One

Publisher: Ubisoft

Release Date: 22/03/2016

Originally set for release later this year in November, Ubisoft's Trackmania Turbo has been delayed until early 2016.

Citing community feedback as the reason for the delay, Ubisoft assures us that the extra development time will be spent enhancing the campaign, interface and online multiplayer: "The extra time will give us an opportunity to make sure that the online infrastructure is stable and that the online experience is a smooth one," they stated in an official blog post

An extra mode is also being added in wake of the delay that will allow you to challenge friends across user-made tracks. "This is a special mode that we think will extend Trackmania Turbo’s longevity because of how it spurs competition between players."

The random generator, one of Trackmania Turbo's most touted features that lets you compose a track at the touch of a button, will also be getting revamped: "we will be able to fine-tune the random generator feature and make the Trackbuilder even more accessible and complete. These improvements will allow the community to create more tracks that are faster and crazier than ever before."

"The Nadeo team can’t wait to get the game into your hands, but it’s important for us to also deliver the best possible Trackmania game."

The delay is undoubtedly disappointing, but if the extra wait time will result in a better, more feature-packed game, then the wait will surely be worth it. Considering that the much-anticipated Need for Speed will be the big racing game release of November, shifting Trackmania Turbo to next year will also probably give it a better chance of success.
