Welcome once again to the TeamVVV Podcast for all your weekly racing game rambles.
This week we chat about the surprise release of the Forza Motorsport 6 Select Car Pack which introduces trucks to the series for the first time and got us reminiscing about a time when dedicated truck racing games were a thing – Super Truck Racing on PS2, anyone?
Elsewhere, Assetto Corsa’s much anticipated Red Pack was released this week which includes Fernando Alonso’s Ferrari F138 Formula One car, which lead to the inevitable comparison with Gran Turismo Sport’s sim racing credentials.
Meanwhile, the somewhat random release of a new Horizon Chase trailer made us reflect about the influx of retro-inspired racing games currently flooding the indie market such as Drift Stage, Power Drive 2000 and Racing Apex.
And of course we had to steer the discussion back onto Carmageddon Max Damage after it dominated last week’s episode – much to the dismay of some of our sim racing-loving audience, we suspect, but we strive to cover all facets of the racing genre. Don’t forget we’re also giving away some so-tacky-they’re-good Carmageddon Max Damage t-shirts and some PS4 codes this week if you like your racing games to be a bit mental.
