Welcome to another installment of the Team VVV Video Podcast, for all your weekly racing game rambles.
This week we look at what lies ahead in 2017, in what promises to be a momentus year for racing games with the return of major franchises such as Gran Turismo Sport, Forza Motorsport 7, Project CARS 2 and Need for Speed. And that's just scratching the surface. New F1, MotoGP and WRC games are inevitable, while Wreckfest will finally revive the demolition derby genre on consoles.
Bike fans have Kylotonn Games' TT Isle of Man Ride on the Edge to look forward to, but 2017 is really about the reutrn of the futuristic racing genre, with RedOut, Formula Fusion and of course WipEout Omega Collection making its console comeback.
In the news, some new DLC releases caught our eye with the release of the Ride 2: Rising Sun Pack and the belated console release of the Asssetto Corsa Porsche Pack Vol 2 and Red Pack. Elsewhere, Snow racing looks to be making a comeback with the surprise announcement of Snow Moto Racing Freedom from the team behind water racer Aqua Moto Racer and the new Mario Kart was leaked ahead of its reveal for the Nintendo Switch.
