Game: Sébastien Loeb Rally Evo

Platform: PC, PS4, XBox One

Publisher: Milestone S.r.l

Release Date: 29/01/2016

Milestone's WRC series saw numerous improvements with each iteration, but by WRC 4 the series was was lacking two crucial, commonly requested features that are an integral part of the rally experience: dynamic weather effects and night stages. Good thing, then, that we now have confirmation that both of these features will feature in their upcoming new rally IP Sébastien Loeb Rally Evo.

Showcased in these newly released screenshots of the work-in-progress graphics engine, lighting effects will play a key part in simulating an authentic rally experience in Sébastien Loeb Rally Evo. Rally stages can now take place at dawn, midday, dusk or late a night, while the dynamic weather can vary from sunny to adverse snow, rain, and fog conditions to hamper visibility. These changing conditions will certainly make for some challenging gameplay experiences.

Visually, Sébastien Loeb Rally Evo's new in-house engine is looking very promising indeed with some fine detail on display, presenting some picturesque opportunities for the photo mode, a feature which has also now been confirmed.

Sébastien Loeb Rally Evo is due to powerslide onto PS4, Xbox One and PC later this Autumn where it will go head-to-head against WRC 5 developed by French firm Klytonn Games.

Just to make things more interesting, Codemasters finally showed their hand this week with the surprise unveil of Dirt Rally on Steam Early Access, a rally simulation that goes back to the roots of the series to appease fans after the series became increasingly Americanised.

Are you still looking forward to Sébastien Loeb Rally Evo in the wake of Dirt Rally?
