Psyonix Vice President Jeremy Dunham has recently confirmed that the long awaited feature of cross play between PlayStation 4 and Xbox One console owners of Rocket League has now been implemented and is ready to go.

Rocket League Ice Hockey Indeed the feature could go live within a few hours according to Dunham and it's now just hinging on Sony's appraisal to see its release. Dunham recently spoke to IGN and expressed just how close we could be to seeing Xbox Live and PlayStation Network cross play for the first time ever:

"we're literally at the point where all we need is the go-ahead on the Sony side and we can, in less than a business day, turn it on and have it up and working no problem. It'd literally take a few hours to propagate throughout the whole world, so really we're just waiting on the permission to do so."

Whether or not Sony will approve the cross play feature for Rocket League remains to be seen, but it certainly is a mouth-watering prospect. Perhaps we could see PlayStation 4 vs Xbox One matches which should add extra spice to proceedings.

We'll keep you guys up to date on any developments as soon as we can.
