News Reports suggest DriveClub will launch in 2014

Following in the wake of Ubisoft's recent announcements that open-world racing game The Crew and next-gen darling WatchDogs would be delayed until 2014, recent reports are suggesting the PS4 launch title DriveClub will also follow in their footsteps.

According to an article by gaming podcast website The Same Coin, an anonymous source "revealed" that the Evolution Studios-developed online racer won't be ready for the PS4's launch date this November, and will instead ship sometime in the first half of 2014.

Another anonymous source with claimed close ties to Sony also stated to Kotaku that the source who spoke to The Same Coin is legitimate, and the rumours about DriveClub's delay are indeed true.

It is worth pointing out, though, that these are all unconfirmed rumours, with neither Sony nor Evolution Studios directly responding to these comments at time of writing.

Also, nothing here has explicitly mentioned the download-only version of DriveClub that's only available to PS+ subscribers – as it's been confirmed that this version of the game won't be quite as comprehensive as the full, boxed retail version, there is the possibility that (should the rumours be correct) this watered-down version might just slip through the net unscathed.
