Release Date: 06/05/2015

A new era for Slightly Mad Studios' widely-reported sim is dawning, as Project CARS is soon to be made accessible through Steam.

According to Andy Tudor (Slightly Mad Studios' Creative Director), the Project CARS closed beta will be making its way onto the popular PC game distribution network, as a result of the WMD members voting for which system they'd prefer the title to be hosted on.

The move to Steam also guarantees that, when the finished retail version of the title ships (currently slated for a Q1 2014 release), it will be available to download on that network.

When asked whether this would allow Slightly Mad Studios to re-open the WMD membership application book, Tudor answered with the following:

"We're looking to re-open WMD specifically but not solely to support development on next-gen console(s). More info on this when we have it though. The move to Steam and re-opening WMD are independent of each other."

No details on when the eventual relocation to Steam were mentioned, other than that the date will be disclosed "soon"
