Release Date: 06/05/2015

As with any racing simulator, Project CARS is best played with a wheel such as the Thrustmaster T300. Unsurprisingly, since the release of Project CARS demand for wheel peripherals has soared significantly – particularly on console where wheels aren't as commonplace as PC, with many retailers currently sold out of popular products.

German site Computerbase reports that Thrustmaster's T300 RS, for example, has been in particularly high demand, with some retailers reporting more than 100 preorders out of stock.

It's a similar story for German manufacturer Fanatec – their flagship CSR wheel is currently out of stock in Europe

Here in the UK, a quick look at Amazon UK reveals a similar situation. You can currently buy a Thrustmaster T300RS for £250 on Amazon, but the dispatch time is currently listed as one – two months, indicating a shortage in supply. It's the same for the T300 Ferrar GTE edition.

Still, this combined with Project CARS' strong sales shows that Slightly Mad Studio's plans to proliferate the console sim racing market is working, as more players are realising the benefits of a wheel setup on console as more racing titles start to support them.
