The coastal California highway track is one of the most visually stunning tracks in Project CARS. A long and winding road course that wouldn't look out of place in Need for Speed, it's certainly a contrast to the licensed race tracks that have been more prominently featured in recent promotions. But therein lies the appeal of Project CARS: it's all things for all racing gamers, whether you like track racing or street racing. It's the same story for the diverse range of car classes which has something for everyone, from karts and touring cars to single seaters and GT cars.

In yet another video showcasing the near-final build of Project CARS on PS4, Alan takes the Gumpert Apollo for a spin around the scenic circuit. Its mix of trackside forests and tight turns make for a challenging drive – particularly when the sun is shining in your eyes thanks to Project CARS' advanced lighting effects, which we see in full effect during the day to night transition.

Interestingly, many of you have taken issue with the blur effects on show in the helmet cam simulating your eyes focusing on the distant track, which is why the dashboard becomes blurred when this is enabled. Personally, I like the added immersion it offers, but it's certainly not for everyone. Don't forget, though, that all of these effects can be turned on or off in Project CARS' plethora of graphical options and visual effects
