Whilst the new Corvette Stingray is stealing all the automotive and sim racing headlines as of late, it's not the only Detroit Auto Show star that's been given the Gran Turismo treatment.

Polyohony Digital – as we're sure you know, the developers of the Gran Turismo games – has released a new promo trailer of Acura's NSX Concept Car, which has been revised slightly since it made its world debut at last year's Detroit Auto Show.

Just as the car on display at the COBO Center (the place in Michigan where the Detroit Show is being held) has what appears to be an almost production ready interior, the promo reel done by PD showcases the two-seater cabin of the new NSX Concept, along with gratuitious sequences of the car either moving or standing still, or with overlaid graphics that demonstrate how the sophisticated all-wheel drive system works, as was the case with the NSX Concept trailer that was first shown at last year's Detroit Auto Show.

And, as with every new announcement by PD, the eagle-eyed Gran Turismo community has picked up on features that aren't currently featured in Gran Turismo 5 – not only have two currently unkonwn locales been showcased in the trailer (the most prominent perhaps being the mountain vista towards the end of the reel), but the GT-original tracks that are the Apricot Hill Raceway and the Seattle Circuit are also shown, along with what appears to be the Ginza district in Tokyo.

This is on top of the Willow Springs Raceway that was prominently featured in the Corvette Stingray trailer.

At this moment in time, we don't know, and neither Polyphony Digital or Sony have stated anything that'd suggest that either option will be the case. However, it does hint that, even though the game is over two years old now, there's still plenty of life in the premier PS3-exclusive racing title…
