Nurburgring GP circuit and Lotus Type 125 single-seater added to Assetto Corsa

James Allen On February 28, 2014

Kunos Simulazioni's released its latest fortnightly update for Assetto Corsa, adding an all-new circuit, car variations and numerous improvements to the Early Access PC racing sim.

Content-wise, the Assetto Corsa V0.7 patch brings with it the Nurburgring Grand Prix circuit - laser scanned for, as Kunos confirms in the official release text, to "reproduce with the maximum fidelity this legendary track in all its details" - and two variations of the Lotus T125 Exos single-seater, F1-inspired track car.

Assetto Corsa V0.7 also adds what's being described by Kunos as a "special tags filtering feature" to the game's user interface, which allows the AI to compete in cars of equal or similar performance to the vehicle the player is currently using, to aid in creating "more specific race events" in the game.

The update also includes fixes and updates for numerous minor issues in Assetto Corsa, which have been detailed in the full patch notes listing below:

  • New car Lotus Exos 125
  • New upgrade Lotus Exos 125 S1
  • New track Nurburgring GP
  • Less noisy bodywork sound for GT cars
  • Fixed hotlap penalties always on
  • Friends Leaderboard :: filters lap for hotlap mode
  • Some performance improvements
  • Replay size reduced by 25%
  • Gui now restoring hidden apps on exit
  • Fixed Gui issues on apps
  • Fixed smoke issues on replay
  • Tuned low-level settings for smoke
  • Fixed time attack start
  • Some texture update for Autodromo di Monza
  • Anticipated pit limiter when entering pitlane for Silverstone and Silverstone International race circuits
  • "New" badge in UI cars thumbnails
  • New "special tags" filtering. When you select a player car, the AI opponents selection is now suggesting similar cars. You can of course dismiss the special tag and choose more
  • New "add visible" and "clear grid" buttons in custom opponents panel UI

Another fantastic addition to AC. Kunos are really adding some great vehicles to AC to match their awesome selection of tracks

The screenshots look like photos, never underestimate the power of realistic looking trees. Assetto Corsa can we have these now please? 2D trees are so last year. Seriously though, this looks (graphically) a lot better than WRC 5 and given Milestone's background in racing games the physics are more likely to be decent. Haven't really see what Kylotonn can do though so I'm keeping an open...

I still play SBK2000 and SBK2001 regularly. Physics is pretty good but imo not quite as realistic as gp500. There are two camps on that argument dating all the way back to 2001! wink I agree SBK2001 is pretty good but the more you grow accustomed to the physics of motogp14 on the limit with no riding aids whatsoever and zero or low tcs plus a decent set-up the more one realises that motogp14 is...

Reason I misunderstood you Travis is that Dorna have already confirmed to Milestone that they are retaining the motogp licence for 2015. Milestone have already started work on motogp15. In fact they have been working on this for quite some time now as I understand it. Also we at xbla are provisionally lined up to commernce a beta testing programme on the game. We have been running monthly Q&A...

Here's a recent example (one of many) in which Milestone have listened to us and have acknowledged that improvements are needed in motogp14:

Now that it appears you will be retaining the Dorna licence for 2015 can you please address what is arguably the...

By the way, and I don't really endorse this concept myself (I would rather Milestone dropped it) the whole idea to combat the understeer in motogp14 is to use a manula "tuck" button. Hey presto..no understeer. Use the "tuck" as you come off the brakes and get on the power.

Personally I would much rather Milestone dropped the manual tuck requirement though. There is no manual "tuck" in...
