Nissan's upcoming GT-R LMP1 NISMO endurance prototype will be "completely tied into gaming", according to Nissan's Global Motorsports Director, Darren Cox.

Speaking to GTChannel, Darren Cox revealed that the GT-R LMP1 NISMO – which will be competing in this year's World Endurance Championship – will be prominently linked to racing games, with the Nissam GMD going on the record to say it will be featured in "all the games that you guys want to play".

Given Nissan's close ties with the GT Academy programme and the Gran Turismo brand, it's safe to assume that the GT-R LMP1 is guaranteed to feature in the upcoming Gran Turismo 7, with the very slim possibility of it being brought to Gran Turismo 6.

Darren Cox also teased the possibility of previous winners of the GT Academy winners – such as Lucas Ordonez and Jann Mardenborough – will be signed on as drivers for Nissan's LMP1 outfit. That said, the GT Academy champions will have to win the seats "on merit", rather than rely on their status as 'NISMO Athletes' to guarantee them a drive in the 2015 World Endurance Championship.

More information on the Nissan GT-R LMP1 NISMO – including details on the drivers who've been signed on – are exected to be revealed at the very latest by the WEC's pre-season test session from 27th to 28th March at France's Paul Ricard Circuit.
