News New patch coming next week for The Crew adds new car & features

Ivory Tower will be releasing a new patch for their open-world racer The Crew next week which adds a new car into the mix as well as some new features and more besides.

The update will add a new PvP game mode called The Crown, here you'll need to capture and keep the crown for as long as you can. Holding the crown grants you points, in order to take the crown from someone you'll need to him them with your car. The Crown mode also brings four additional PvP missions specifically for the mode.

Also included is the new roulette system in the PvP lobby. All players are asked to select the type of PvP event they want to race in, the roulette system then randomly selects the next event among the player choices.

Additionally, the 2 hour trial of The Crew found on current generation consoles will now be avialable for PC players too and, as beofre, any progress made on the trial will be carried over to the full game. Besides the updates mentioned above, there are several other additions which can be seen in the changelog below.

Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR – Full Stock / Perf / Circuit

This new car will be unlocked for all Season Pass owners on Wednesday, July 1st. It will be available for purchase to non-season pass owners one week later.

New features

PVP game mode: The Crown

To capture the crown from the “King”, other racers need to hit him.

New Roulette system in PVP lobby

All players will now be able to select the type of PvP event they want to race in.

New Spoiler parts for the PERF cars

Added a new part in the Perf Car Tuner that offers the possibility to use Full Stock spoiler on Perf cars (removes the spoiler from the PERF cars). 

New faction missions will be available

The Big D – PERF spec. A to B mission.

New stickers will be added to the Ubisoft stickers category

11 Assassin’s Creed stickers. 

The Crew Trial on PC.

PC players will now be able to try The Crew during 2 hours through Uplay and Steam. Progress made during free trial carries over to the full game. Co-op available.

Fixed Bugs

Fixed an issue with the Buggy’s cockpit rearview.

Fixed the inconsistency between award spoils on Faction and Awards tabs.

Improvements on Daily Salary and reputation computing: fixed the issue where the salary didn’t take into account the Award spoil bonus.

Improvements on PVP ranking points: sometimes players lost ranking points even if they won races.
