The giant German auto maker Mercedes-Benz has confirmed two of its most exciting contemporary performance cars – the A45 AMG hot hatchback and the twin-turbocharged E63 AMG saloon – won't be represented in Gran Turismo 6.
The announcement on the official Mercedes Twitter feed that "unfortunately, those vehicles are not included in the upcoming GT6" goes at odds with a statement made by the marque earlier this year, explicitly mentioning that the A45 (pictured, left) and E63 would be joining the SLS AMG GT3 racing car in making their inaugural appearances in a Gran Turismo game this December through GT6.
No details as to why the two high performance AMG-fettled road cars won't be featured in the upcoming Gran Turismo title on launch day have been cited by either Mercedes-Benz, Polyphony Digital or Sony Computer Entertainment.
With Polyphony expected to support the title in the long term with regular DLC updates, there is still the possibility the A45 amd E63 AMG models will be released in Gran Turismo 6 eventually.
