Publisher: Milestone S.r.l

Release Date: 30/05/2017

Milestone surprised us all recently by announcing MXGP 3 earlier than we expected. The screenshots dazzled us with their crisp textures, particle effects and deformable ground, (thanks to the use of the Unreal Engine 4) which was then followed by the official announcement trailer giving us a look at some gameplay.

Milestone has today released their second trailer for the motocross title which confirms the release date of May 12 across the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms. The trailer (seen below) showcases the existence of two-stroke bikes which will appease many fans that were desperate to have them included. Indeed the trailer itself centres around the inclusion of the 2 stroke bikes with 10 included in total which will have their own physics and of course sound, check out the 2 stroke trailer below.

MXGP 3 will see the inclusion of dynamic weather for the first time in the series. The wet weather effects look particularly amazing thanks to the Unreal Engine 4. The effects are not just cosmetic either, rain will affect grip levels, not to mention reduce visibility. Sudden downpours will change the way you need to approach the race so be on the lookout for any dark clouds rolling in.

Other areas where MXGP 3 shines compared to previous titles is in the track side detail. Crowds litter the track edges in greater number than ever before and can be seen lighting flares and waving flags. Track surface deformation has seen a step forward too, something we've complained about in the second iteration which we felt took a step backwards compared to the original MXGP title.

MXGP 3 will feature a career mode complete with a plethora of customisation options. The title features all the official MXGP and MX2 riders of 2016 along with all the official tracks including the MxoN which can be raced both online and offline. MXGP 3 will release for the Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC on June 12.
