Remember LocoCycle, the loony-looking XBLA game in which you control I.R.I.S., a karate-kicking bike, whilst dragging a hapless Spanish-speaking engineer named Pablo currently being developed by the zany folk at Twisted Pixels? Well, if not then you ought to because we featured it in our 2013 preview a few months back.

It certainly seemed to have the makings of a riotously OTT, action-packed arcade title, but we've sadly received no new information since we featured it as Twisted Pixel continued not to commit to a release date.

Twisted Pixel has now broken the silence, however, with a significant announcement: LocoCycle is now set to be an Xbox One launch title.

Don't think, however, that this means Xbox 360 owners will be neglected, as the project is still planned to be released on the current gen platform as originally planned at an unspecified release date. Unsurprisingly, the Xbox One version will benefit from the console's added horsepowever, though, sporting spruced-up 1080P graphics and silky smooth 60 FPS.

And if you wanted to see what LocoCycle is all about, we have a new typically tongue-in cheek trailer from Twisted Pixel to mark the announcement:

Expect to learn more from E3 next week where the Xbox One version is said to be playable.
