Kunos Simulazioni has clarified the issues surrounding the Assetto Corsa pre-order postponement, stating native e-commerce laws as the prime contributor to the delay.
According to Kunos in an official statement, the studio has been working on getting the pre-order phase ready, and was allegedly only "a couple of days" away from this stage being completed when things started to go wrong, culminating in Kunos boss Stefano Casillo confirming they wouldn't be ready on time.
This has been attributed to aditional documentation being required, in order to Kunos to distribute Assetto Corsa in accordance to what the statement describes as "very complicated" e-commerce laws in Italy that are "inadeuquate for digital distribution", along with "additional documentation and rules that don't allow us to start the pre-order phase already set".
No adjusted dates for the new pre-order release date were mentioned, but Kunos assures us that the developers are "working on a different strategy", and will release update information as soon as it's ready to disclose.
