We recently learned that GT Sport will not feature dynamic weather conditions, and now we can confirm that Polyphony Digital's upcoming PS4 exclusive racer will not offer dynamic time of day either.

Gran Turismo Sport Nissan GT-R Tokyo HighwaysThis was confirmed from Polyphony's top man Kazunori Yamauchi in a recent interview by GTPlanet. Much like the nondynamic weather, time of day will be chosen at the pre-race screen. The reason for the lack of dynamic weather and time of day was explained by Yamauchi:

“We opted to not have the transitions in the race this time in order to raise the framerate and the quality of the image *during* the race. So the user will be able to set that before they enter the race. So you’ll still be able to have night races, morning, races at dawn, dusk, and so on.”

Gran Turismo Sport features online competitions officially sanctioned by the FIA. Players can compete in either the Nations Cup, representing their country, or you can represent a car manufacturer in the Manufacturers Cup.

The PlayStation 4 racer features a comprehensive Campaign mode complete with 117 offline events. 137 cars will be available at launch and players will get to race on 19 different tracks (including dirt tracks) with 27 variations on offer. Furthermore, GT Sport will finally feature a livery editor and a photomode, known as “Scapes” which boasts over 1000 locations.
