Driveclub's free Playstation Plus (PS+) edition has become something of myth in the gaming world. It was originally supposed to arrive alongside Driveclub at the game 's launch but was delayed for what seems like forever now.
Finally, however, we have a solid release date, and that is tomorrow, Thursday June 25, no really. But there is a catch sadly – the PS+ edition will only allow access to the offline mode for now (well for most of us anyway, a small portion of players will have online access). President of Sony Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida says that the plan is to roll out the online portion to more and more players while monitoring their servers to make sure everything is running smoothly.
Yesterday we reported on the premature release of the PS+ edition only to be quickly pulled. We learned that the PS+ edition of the Playstation 4 exclusive racer will include access to an impressive roster (considering it is somewhat free) of 15 cars and 13 tracks all from India.
There's also access (or will be) to the online challenges, photo mode, offline tour mode, customisation and of course the game's replays. Additionally there's apparently 27 trophies to unlock including a platinum trophy. Those wanting to upgrade to the full version can do so at the cost of $25.
Has the ship long sailed for the PS+ edition of Driveclub?
