One of Forza Motorsport 6's headline features is the long-awaited debut of weather effects and night time racing in the Forza Motorsport. There is a catch, however – it won't be dynamic, according to Eurogamer.
Weather effects can be set before a race but will not change as the race progresses, so if you opt to race in the rain it will keep raining for the entirety of the race. Weather and night effects can also only be applied to a specific selection of tracks. There's logic to the selection: Silverstone, for example can be played in the wet, whereas Le Mans can be experienced at the dead of night.
It's a disappointing revelation, and a potential blow to Forza Motorsport 6 since so many of its competitors already have dynamic weather effects – including Project CARS and, ironically, Forza Horizon 2.
Turn10 pointed out that Forza Horizon 2 only ran at 30fps and 1080p, so this sacrifice was seemingly made to enable Forza Motorsport 6 to run at 60fps and 1080p.
