Earlier this month we had official confirmation that Flatout 4: Total Insanity will be coming to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles in March. However we were left with no details on the PC version of the destruction-based racer, well that is until now.

Publisher Strategy First has revealed that Flatout 4: Total Insanity will release worldwide on Steam at some point in April. To accompany the announcement a new Steam trailer for the game has been released which you can see below.

The fourth entry in the long-running series (try not to remember the woeful third installment) will feature 27 customisable vehicles. The majority of these vehicles will be new, although you can expect to see some based on fan favourites from older games in the series.

Flatout 4: Total Insanity should keep you busy with its 20 destructible tracks which play host to several game modes including traditional derby racing, time trials, arenas, assault levels, carnage levels and more. The legendary stunt mode will make a return with six new stunts and six re-imagined classic stunt mini-games confirmed.

The Arena mode also sees a return which includes Death Match, Capture the Flag Survivor game modes. That's not all though as Flatout 4: Total Insanity also features a new Assault mode. The Assault mode will see you armed to the teeth with a plethora of weapons which enables you to “slow or destroy opponents”.

Competitive local and online modes allow up to eight players to battle it out at destruction arenas and race courses. Its also been confirmed that the game features a thumping indie soundtrack.

Finally, the steam version of the title can be played in Steam’s Big Picture Mode, and you can unlock countless Steam achievements and collect Steam Trading Cards to use for game badges and tradable Steam community items.
