Fanatec has continued their slew of Wheel Rim reveals with the announcement of its latest add-on for the ClubSport wheel: the GT Rim.

Structurally, this one looks similar to the Flat1 Rim announced earlier this week. Its surrounded by the same modular buttons.

What sets the GT Rim apart, however, is that you can mount a smartphone to the rig with an optional phone holder, allowing you to use your phone as a headsup display as showcased in the official promo shot showing it in-use with an iPhone.

Fanatec won't be releasing any dedicated Apps, but there are already a multitude of free and paid-for apps available that support all the big-name PC racing sims including pCars, iRacing, Assetto Corsa and rFactor 2,

Better still, the GT Rim even has an integrated power supply, meaning you'll be able to use it to charge your phone while racing. It's a smart use of mobile devices on Fanatec's part.

No measurements for the GT RIm have been announced yet, although Fanatec state it will be similar in size to the BMW Rim.

You've probably guessed the price already – like the majority of Fanatec's growing family of Wheel Rims, the GT Rim will cost 349,95 Euro / USD when it's released this Summer. And that's presumably without the optional phone holder, which is meant to be one of its selling points.

Let us know what you think of Fanatec's latest Wheel Rim in the comments below. In the meantime, you can see it in action in the hands of German racing driver René Rast in this sneak peak video below:
