In many ways, Project CARS is a unique entity on console. While many of its selling points are expected in PC racing simulations, it's a rarity to see a racing game run at 60fps on console, let alone allow for up to 45 cars on track at once.

Likewise, we're used to having the option to adjust graphics settings on PC games in order to optimise the performance.  On console however, this luxury is practically unheard of since consoles obviously have unified hardware specifications, which is why we were surprised to discover that Project CARS lets you fiddle with a plethora of graphical settings to tailor your experience.

Our latest video showing off a near-final build of Project CARS on PS4 explores many of the available graphical effects and visual options, from the sun glare to the ferocity of the helmet cam. We also take a brief look at some of the camera and replay options available.

While experimenting with the options has no benefit to the in-game performance unlike a PC game, it's great to see a console game come with such unprecedented customisation, and is certainly a trend we'd like to see continue in future racing titles.

Project CARS races off the line next week May 8th on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Subscribe to our YouTube channel for continued coverage on one of this year's most eagerly-anticipated racing games.
