A new 'dynamic track' feature is currently in development for iRacing.

Detailed in a new preview video, the upcoming addition will allow circuit conditions to subtly evolve over the course of a race, as they do in real life motorsports events.

For instance, this feature will allow the track to slowly be rubbered in over the course of a race, with more grip being made available on the racing line.

Tarmac temperature will also be simulated, with the track gradually becoming warmer on the racing line as more cars pass over it. The video also reveals the levels of shade and sunlight on the track will also have an affect on how hot or cold the surface is.

Having this feature implemented in iRacing will also allow the development team to consider additional ways to make the in-game racing more realistic, with hints that day/night transitions and changing weather conditions may be coming to the subscription-based PC racing sim.

No official release date for the dynamic track feature has been disclosed at time of writing, though it's likely this addition will be brought to iRacing in the title's next Season Build.
