Turns out our predictions were correct: the new car Evolution have been teasing this week for DriveClub has been revealed to be the Swedish speed machine, the Koenigsegg One:1, part of February's forthcoming DLC pack which adds another five cars to DriveClub's rapid roster.

Called the Downforce pack, you'll be given the keys to the Ferrari F50, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Centennial Edition, SRT Viper GTS, ndd Jaguar F-Type R Coupé in addition to the Koenigsegg One:1.

It's reassuring to see the SRT Viper expand the American-shaped void in DriveClub's car list, but did we really need another Corvette in addition to the two released in the last couple of packs? Ferrari also seem to keep reoccurring in these expansions which is started to gete a tad samey, but the Jaguar F-Type is a welcome addition after the concept Jaguar C-X75, which has since been confirmed to appear in the upcoming Bond sequel SPECTRE, feature in last month's DLC expansion.

Elsewhere, Evolution have been doing an exemplary job of keeping to their pledge to support DriveClub post release, adding new features in addition to improving the server stability. Details have been dished out of an update set to be released this week bringing the game up to version 1.11, which will add a Team Time Trial online multiplayer mode, as well as a new track track with two variants for the Japan location free of charge.

One of my personal niggles has even been addressed. When selecting a car, if you wanted to change its standard colour you had to create a custom livery and save it as stock in order to select it. The update will add the ability to simply choose from a selection of factory paint jobs before an event. A simple fix, but you have to commend Evolution for listening to their fanbase.

Update 1.11 Add-ons (coming to PlayStation®Store Feb 24-26):

» Adds support for the VUHL 05, coming to PlayStation®Store as a free download.

» The Downforce Car Pack includes: Ferrari F50, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Centennial Edition, SRT Viper GTS, Koenigsegg One:1 and Jaguar F-Type R Coupé.

» Adds support for 2 new livery packs, coming to PlayStation®Store as a premium/Season Pass add-on. Each Livery Pack contains 5 new livery patterns to customise your cars with.

Evolution has also outlined a number of changes currently in the works later down the line:

» Server upgrades: to improve stability and performance for all current players and to enable the release of the PS+ Edition and DRIVECLUB companion app.

» Replays: are in the final stages of development and testing. It's likely that offline replays will come ahead of Multiplayer replays.

» Lots more cars: We can't say what's coming just yet, but many of your most commonly requested cars and manufacturers are coming to DRIVECLUB, along with a few surprises.

So, plenty of content to keep us busy with DriveClub in the next few months now we've had change to catch our breath and digest that lot.

Which car are you looking forward to driving most in the Downforce expansion?
